Sirius Buying Group has donated £5,000 to Royal United Hospitals – RUH – Cancer Care for fundraiser Zoe Wilkins from appliance store Nailsea Electrical in Bristol to trek across Iceland this month to raise funds for the charity.

The funds are part of the £10,000 the company raised at its seventh international conference, held in May at the Lake Spa Resort in Portugal, which included an auction with Sirius suppliers providing products to raise funds for charity.

Wilkins – who put forward RUH as one of Sirius Buying Group's nominated charities for the year alongside her colleague Becky Gilks – will be trekking for around eight hours a day and will spend four days crossing lava fields, according to Sirius Buying Group.

Sirius Buying Group commercial director Steve Jones, pictured far left, and chairman Gordon Jones, far right, presented a cheque for the £5,000 donation to Wilkins, centre left, and Gilks, centre right.
