Ideal Standard names new UK managing director

By KBBDaily on 12th September 2017 - 17:11pm

Ideal Standard has appointed Stephen Ewer as its new UK Cluster managing director, meaning he will head up operations for brands Armitage Shanks, Ideal Standard and Sottini in the UK, Ireland and Australia.

Ewer has joined the company from the role of executive vice president and managing director EMEA for Tensar International. Prior to that, he worked as managing director of Poland for Otis Elevator Company, as well as UK and central European sales and marketing director.

Ewer has replaced Ideal Standard International CEO Torsten Türling in the role; Türling stepped in as interim UK managing director until a successor was found for Jim Moore, who stepped down from the role at the end of May.

Moore took on the role of UK and Ireland managing director in August last year, replacing interim managing director David Barber, who had held the position since January 2016 following Keith Boad's resignation at the end of 2015.

“I am delighted to announce Stephen’s appointment and welcome him to Ideal Standard,” said Türling. “Stephen brings a wealth of commercial and strategic leadership experience, which will be key in realising our clear business strategy.

“Stephen joins the UK business at an exciting and important time, with one of our brands, Armitage Shanks celebrating its 200-year anniversary and significant investment across the group. Stephen’s appointment looks directly towards the future and the continuation of strong business growth.”
