CIH holds Suppliers' Lunch and presents two supplier awards

Electrical buying group Combined Independents (Holdings) – CIH – which is part of Euronics, recently held its annual Suppliers' Lunch at the Dorchester Hotel on the 6th December and presented two supplier awards.

Guests of the lunch were treated to a three-course Christmas lunch before CIH chairman Robin Millwood, pictured, gave a review of the year and spoke about the group's plans for 2018.

He then presented Sony and Dyson with the Supporter of the Independent 2017 and Euronics Supplier of the Year 2017 awards, respectively.

In his review, Millwood spoke about a “multi-million-pound investment” by the group into its operations, including its new distribution hub in Preston that opened earlier this year. The group is also in the process of upgrading its website, which is expected to go live in June next year.

Millwood also announced plans to launch an associate membership for the group, allowing retailers to join “without the restrictions of the past” after noting falling membership due to the fact that CIH has “not been an easy group to join” in the past.

“We have a clear vision going forward to become a true omni-channel buying/retail group,” he said. “In a very busy year, the executive Euronics directors and the board have all had to work harder than ever in an environment that is ever changing, and more difficult, so my thanks to them all for their help and support during the year.”
