Builders’ merchant the Ridgeon Group has appointed Suzanne Britter as its new HR director, with Britter joining the business following a six-year stint at Ladbroke Coral Group in various senior HR roles.

In her new position, Britter will “develop Ridgeons’ brand reputation as an attractive employer”. She will be responsible for the development of the business’s apprenticeship scheme, as well as Ridgeons’ technical training programme.

“I am delighted to join Ridgeons as a company which has maintained its status as an excellent employer for many years,” she said. “Although it is a business in a traditional industry, it sets itself apart from other builders’ merchants. It supports staff through professional development and offers plenty of progression opportunities, while developing a high-performance culture and providing excellent customer service.”

Britter added: “Ridgeons is well-known within the industry. However, people who may not be familiar with the trade need to know that it offers a great place to work. In fact, it was the company’s values and culture that partly attracted me to my new role. I look forward to refining our employer value proposition and communicating it to new audiences.”
