Bathroom manufacturer Vitra UK – part of Turkey’s Eczacibasi Group – has received an inclusive bathroom design award from the UK Over 50s Housing Awards “for its considerable efforts to address the needs of our ageing population”.

In partnership with Sheffield Hallam University’s Lab4Living research centre, Vitra created the ‘Inclusive Bathroom Design – As We Age’ booklet, which took home the award for ‘Most Innovative Design for Aging’.

The booklet was based on research by Vitra and Lab4Living on the “needs and expectations of an ageing population with respect to bathrooms”. Vitra designer Heath Reed and professor Paul Chamberlain accepted the award on behalf of Vitra at the ceremony in London.
