Hotpoint opens Fresh Thinking pop-up café

Hotpoint recently opened its Fresh Thinking for Forgotten Food pop-up café in East London to the public, serving dishes that have been submitted by the public and inspired by the most commonly wasted food in the UK, such as eggs, bread and fresh vegetables.

The café was the final location for the Hotpoint Fresh Thinking roadshow, with the dishes created at the pop-up using surplus ingredients sourced from local suppliers. The café operated on a ‘pay-as-you-feel’ basis with proceeds being donated to food waste and poverty charity FoodCycle.

“Hotpoint has been on a mission to get the UK to think differently about leftovers, and get creative with the contents in their fridge and cupboards,” said Hotpoint brand head Jennifer Taylor.

“People from all over the country have submitted some brilliant recipes based on the top 10 wasted foods and we’re thrilled to be serving a handful of these in our Fresh Thinking Café.”
