By KBBDaily on 22nd October 2015 - 16:35pm

A survey carried out by granite worktop manufacturer Mayfair Granite has revealed the desires of Brits when it comes to their dream kitchen, including granite worktops, range cookers and 'all-in-one' taps.

The survey – which had 1,000 participants – was split into five categories, namely worktops, flooring, lighting, appliances and kitchen style. Granite surfaces were named the most popular worktop with 39% of the vote, followed closely by quartz with 32%.

More than 30% of those surveyed said they would want tiles in their dream kitchen, followed by vinyl with 25%. The top dream appliance was a range oven with 29% of the vote. Smart fridge freezers came second with 22%, while a boiling water tap garnered 18% of the vote.

For style of kitchen, 26% of participants said they'd have a modern kitchen, while 21% said traditional and 20% said country cottage. Lastly, 33% of those surveyed said they would prefer recessed lights in their dream kitchen.

“From our survey, it's plain to see that people are taking kitchen design seriously when it comes to the materials and appliances needed to create the perfect cooking and entertaining space,” said Mayfair Granite's Neil Beard. “Luxury items such as range ovens and granite worktops not only make a statement, but also provide the ease of use and longevity needed in such a crucial room.”
