Used Kitchen Company named Grand Designs 'Green Hero'

By KBBDaily on 27th April 2017 - 09:50am

The Used Kitchen Company has been selected as one of Kevin McCloud's 10 Green Heroes of 2017 for this year's Grand Designs Live event, taking place from the 29th April to the 7th May at the Excel in London.

TV personality McCloud picks companies that are “the most important eco-innovators in green design” each year to be showcased at the event, with The Used Kitchen Company being picked this year alongside companies and products including Biomass Light, Newspaper Wood, Durapalm and Piñatex.

The Used Kitchen Company sells used and ex-display kitchens for private individuals as well as more than 500 showrooms across the country. “Most importantly, we encourage homeowners to recycle their used kitchens rather than throwing them on a skip,” the company added.

“When I created the concept of recycling kitchens it was very much with the idea of avoiding often fabulous kitchens ending up in landfill,” said MD and founder Looeeze Grossman, pictured. “We are so delighted to be recognised as being one of 2017’s most important innovative eco companies by Grand Designs’ Kevin McCloud.”
