Builders' merchant Ridgeon Group has won two Builders' Merchants News – BMN – awards for its specialist heating and plumbing brand PlumbStock as well as its flagship Saffron Walden showroom branch in Essex.

Ridgeons Saffron Walden won Showroom of the Year, while PlumbStock won the Heating and Plumbing Merchant of the Year award for “its successful marketing launch and creating a brand that appeals to customers' needs”, according to the company.

The awards were presented to Ridgeons Cambridge merchants and PlumbStock director Hugh Guntrip, pictured centre, and merchants south head Darren Tobyn by actor Joanna Lumley at the awards ceremony, which took place at the end of November at the London Hilton Hotel.

“We are thrilled to have won two BMN awards in such a thriving, competitive industry,” said Ridgeon Group CEO Ian Northen. “Our success provides industry-wide recognition that our investments in the business are leading to very positive results.

“These accolades come at a time of exciting change for Ridgeons, as we further develop the Ridgeons and PlumbStock brands. We are currently investing in a major refurbishment of our Nuffield Road branch in Cambridge, including opening a new PlumbStock box-in-box and new kitchen and bathroom showroom in January.”

He added: “In the spring of 2018 we will open a new flagship branch in Norman Way in Cambridge before closing the existing Cromwell Road branch. We are looking forward to a very exciting 2018 for the Ridgeon Group.”
