Sirius Buying Group recently held its eighth international conference at the end of May, with the “completely sold-out” event welcoming 140 delegates to the five-star Lakes Hotel Vilamoura in Portugal.

According to Sirius, those in attendance comprised group members and their business partners, as well as “key delegates” from the buying group’s network of approved suppliers. Several were attending for the first time, Sirius added.

“To have this event completely sell out is testament to how the group is regarded by the electrical appliance industry and thusly, our members and suppliers,” said Sirius Buying Group commercial director Steve Jones.

“Initial feedback from both our approved suppliers and members to Sirius is extremely positive, with new purchases and enquiries hitting a record high: up 30% on last year. In fact, it is the direct feedback we receive year-on-year that drives us to maintain this level of B2B, and the five-star Provencal location definitely helps with that!”

The first day of the conference saw several approved suppliers – including Indesit, Caple, Hoover, Gorenje, Franke, Liebherr, Smeg, Samsung and Symphony – present their services to members and provide information on exclusive promotions in place for members.

The conference also included Sirius’s ‘speed networking’ activity, as well as an update on the group’s website and the Sirius Gala awards dinner, where the group raised £13,000 for Cancer Research through an auction on the night.
