Building management system supplier Gira has teamed up with Park Electrical Distributors to hold four days of Gira product training at the distributor’s training facility at its UK head office, located in Gateshead.

According to Gira, the partnership with Park Electrical Distributors allowed it to deliver its training outside of London “for the first time in recent years”. The company used Park’s dedicated training room, complete with training rigs sent over from Germany.

The four-day training session focused on Gira’s KNX products and how to program them, with hands-on technical coaching and advice delivered by Alexander Gaertner from the Gira Training Academy department in Germany.

“Our aim for rolling out Gira training courses like this one at Park Electrical Distributors is to build on our network of expert system integrators, which we hope leads to increased specification,” said Gira UK managing director Mark Booth.

“We want to encourage product familiarity and confidence, as well as develop new skills so that our UK suppliers and Gira specialists can reach previously untapped markets. We hope with continued training opportunities, open dialogue, product-rich events and reactive communication, Gira will fast become the first and only choice for intelligent building solutions and technology.”

Park Electric Distributors building technologies manager Paul Kinghorn added: “We were delighted to host Gira’s KNX product training in our training facility. It was a great benefit to be able to offer our northern customers the training Gira provide to further enhance their knowledge in our continually growing sector.”
