Ideal Bathrooms has appointed Gary Matthews as its new sales director, with Matthews joining the company from the role of UK sales director at Grant Westfield, where he built a “growth platform” for the Multipanel business.

Matthews has 28 years of experience within customer services and sales in the building materials, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom industries. He has also previously worked at Kohler Mira, Grohe and Ideal Standard.

“Having been a supplier into the business in previous years, I have observed Ideal Bathrooms becoming the leader in its field and as I know the team well, I feel totally at home and privileged to become part of that environment,” said Matthews.

“I have a background in developing channel and customer plans that are researched, understood and implemented, ensuring the business is aligned to customer needs and equipped to support the professional development of our customers’ businesses.”

Ideal Bathrooms managing director John Bagshaw added: “We’re thrilled to have Gary on board. He’s well-known in the industry and I know he’s going to make a big impact in the company and help us strive for success and further growth.”
