Smeg has received eight Good Design awards for 2018, as well as receiving recognition for two more products from its range of retro-style small appliances, namely the TSF03 toaster and DCF01 drip filter coffee machine.

The Italian brand’s new 120cm freestanding Portofino cooker with double cavity – set to be unveiled later this year – scooped an award alongside its new Linea built-in WiFi-connected wine cooler.

The new sous vide vacuum drawer, coffee machine and 90cm wide oven from Smeg’s Dolce Stil Novo built-in collection also received awards, with the company saying the range was recognised for its “gorgeous aesthetic and class-leading technology”.

According to Smeg, it faced more than 500 companies to win the “esteemed mark of excellence” for its products. Winners of the Good Design awards are selected by an international jury of architects, designers and creative directors from the industry.
