Wetroom manufacturer Impey has received the AJ Specification award in the bathroom category for its bespoke product development work on the Nine Elms Point project in South London with Barratt London.

The company was chosen to supply bespoke linear drainage for Barratt London’s development, which is part of the Nine Elms on the South Bank regeneration project, last year. The company provided extended-width drainage apertures for the development’s 645 apartments.

The judges called the project a “very neat design solution” and a “really good example of an iterative process of specification; of working together to overcome a tricky design challenge and find an appropriate solution for a specific project”.

“We are delighted to win this prestigious award at the first-ever AJ Specification Awards,” said Impey national specification manager Stephen Pelling.

“Our R&D team engineered an attractive, multifunctional product; taking into consideration the necessity for a striking, contemporary design and ease of on-site installation in over 600 wetrooms. It’s wonderful to be recognised by the judges at the AJ Specification Awards 2019.”
