The Used Kitchen Company – TUKC – has upped the ante for its Greatest Green Showroom Award, which will go to the kitchen showroom that “does the most” to recycle its ex-display kitchens and “save even more waste from sitting in storerooms until finally consigned to the skip”.

TUKC is already awarding points on a month-by-month basis to showrooms that put their ex-displays “up for adoption”, keeping a tally of which showrooms are “doing the most to reduce the trade’s carbon footprint”.

However, the company has announced it will be doubling points for showrooms in April and May, the peak home renovation season. “Now is the time to really get those kitchens moving from showroom to proud new owner,” said TUKC owner Looeeze Grossman.

“We shall be going all out to get that message out over the coming months and cannot wait to reward the showroom that shows most concern for the environment during 2019.”
