Chris Honer, pictured, the former managing director of distributor BCG, has wholly acquired appliance, sink and tap wholesaler Swift Electrical Wholesalers (SOT) Limited via his holding company Honer Holdings Limited, which is owned by Honer and his wife Sharon Honer.

Swift Electrical has been running for more than 40 years supplying appliances, sinks and taps to the trade. Brands distributed by the Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire-based company include Franke, Indesit, Candy, Smeg, Zanussi, Whirlpool, Amica and Glen Dimplex Home Appliances – GDHA.

According to Honer, it is “very much business as usual” for the company following the acquisition, which was completed on the 27th March 2019. “The business will continue its activities as previously and I will be taking direct control over the company with immediate effect,” he said.

“There is no planned radical change of direction, but a carefully thought-out policy to make incremental improvements across all current areas of coverage,” he noted, adding that he wished former Swift chairman Andrew Swift and his family the best for the future.

Following his departure from BCG, Honer joined Britannia Living as sales and marketing director in 2012. After 18 months, he was promoted to the role of managing director for the brand, which had been bought out of administration by GDHA in September.

In 2015, GDHA and Britannia Living launched a unified range cooking division, which was headed up by Honer, who became GDHA Range Cooking managing director.
