Furniture fittings manufacturer Hettich has reported sales of €1.06bn for 2018, marking an 8.6% increase on 2017, which saw sales of €975m.

The Kirchlengern, Germany-based company said its UK operations achieved both sales and market share growth last year for all of its “core products”, namely hinges, drawer systems and sliding door mechanisms.

The group – which employed around 6,700 staff last year – said 71% of its business was carried out abroad in 2018, adding that it invested around €119m in the company worldwide.

“We are delighted to have crossed the €1 billion sales threshold,” said Hettich managing partner and chairman Andreas Hettich.

“We thank all customers, the entire Hettich team and partners for our excellent working relationship and look forward to further successful growth in a challenging environment.”
