Sintered stone manufacturer Neolith has unveiled its new Urban Boutique showroom in Düsseldorf, which has been designed by Niels Karsten Kniest of nkk raumkonzepte to create a “breathtaking” display of the brand’s products’ potential.

Featuring a kitchen, library space and freestanding bath, the showroom aims to make visitors “immediately aware of the diverse applications” of sintered stone. Shower rooms, bathrooms and vanity units are also displayed in the space to highlight Neolith’s diversity for wall cladding, flooring, worktops and sinks, the company said.

Karsten Kniest has also created “less conventional” sintered stone applications including a fireplace, customised tile formats, ceiling cladding and herringbone parquet. “The main theme behind the design is ‘think different’,” the designer said.

“I was driven by looking at things not just for the obvious, but to fathom them fully, play with the possibilities and show the unexpected. I want to encourage visitors to see the material with a new perspective, think differently and think ahead.”

Part of Neolith’s Urban Boutique series, the new Düsseldorf showroom is the latest addition to a collection of spaces opening in cities across Europe, with showrooms already open in London, Madrid and Milan, and another set to open in Amsterdam.

“The best way to truly understand the potential of a material is through seeing it in beautiful spaces, designed how real people might specify it in their homes, restaurants or hotels,” said Neolith director Mar Esteve Cortes.

“Our Neolith Urban Boutiques are more than showrooms. We’ve carefully chosen their locations so they are in bustling, international hubs, inviting in people from all walks of life to explore and enjoy.”
