Austrian fittings manufacturer Blum ran a social campaign at Interzum, with the family-owned company donating €30 per signature in its visitor book to Light for the World – an international relief organisation based in Austria.

Blum – who has made a donation per signature to charity for the last 34 years – asked visitors to sign the visitors' book at their show booth, which amassed €99,660.

€30 per signature is the amount that is costs to finance an eye operation for people who have gone blind from cataract in some of the world's poorest regions – with this year's donations paying for 3,322 operations to restore people's eyesight.

MD Philipp Blum said: "We want to support those who need our help the most urgently. People who can see play a full and active part in society and shape their own future."
