Kitchen retailer Wren Kitchens has invested around £1m to open its 80th showroom, located at Stone Lane retail park in Exeter, in August.

According to Wren, the new store has created 27 local jobs. The 16,000sq ft space contains the county’s largest kitchen range on display, the retailer added. The investment is part of Wren’s expansion plans to open 14 showrooms across the UK this year.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Yolanda Henson, will officially open the showroom to the public on the 2nd August. In June, Wren said it is investing £120m in its fourth manufacturing facility in the Humber region, creating up to 1,200 jobs at its Barton-upon-Humber headquarters.

“It has taken three months to completely transform the retail unit and the substantial amount we’ve invested demonstrates our commitment to the local area,” said Wren Kitchens Exeter showroom manager Alison Hawkins.

“The new showroom will showcase over 50 kitchen displays and top of the range technology to help you build your dream kitchen, including virtual reality,” Hawkins added. The showroom will feature an appliance demonstration area and children’s zone.
