Electrical Safety First – ESF – is set to hold a seminar on reducing risk for safer products in collaboration with the Office for Product Safety and Standards – OPSS – taking place on the 23rd September at Mary Ward House in London.

A key focus of the seminar – which is titled ‘Mitigating risk through conformity assessment – ensuring product safety throughout the supply chain’ – will be the upcoming PAS 7050, which is being developed to provide guidance in bringing safe products to market.

There will also be an expert panel offering views on best practice for mitigating risk through conformity assessment, as well as a practical workshop “for delegates to put the theory into practice”.

Speakers at the event will include OPSS assistant director Gordon Maddan and Judith Peacock, group technical and health and safety director at Dixons Carphone.

“This event will help delegates – from large corporates to SMEs – understand the processes required to help demonstrate that products are safe and legally compliant, including what can be expected from the anticipated PAS 7050,” said ESF technical director Martyn Allen.

“So whatever your business size or extent of your supply chain – from initial product concept through to manufacture or direct import – this essential seminar can help ensure you bring your goods safely to market.”
