Four staff from shower enclosure manufacturer Merlyn recently took on the “punishing” 25km Kilkenny Triathlon – comprising a 750m sprint swim, 19.4km cycle and 5km run.

The team carried out the challenge to raise funds for The Pink Ribbon Foundation, which Merlyn has partnered with for its #JustAReminder… campaign, designed to remind men and women to check their breasts in the shower.

Merlyn has placed the renowned breast cancer grant-making trust’s laser-cut pink ribbon on their enclosures to serve as a reminder. The company has also pledged to raise £20,000 for the charity.

A recent survey by Norstat found that 75% of women forget to check their breasts regularly in the shower, despite knowing and agreeing how important it is to check every week. More than 60% agreed that having the pink ribbon symbol on their shower screen would act as a great reminder.
