Entries have opened for the 18th edition of the Tile of Spain Awards from the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association – ASCER – which is offering a total prize fund of €39,000 across three categories, namely architecture, interior design and final degree project.

With entries open until the 24 October 2019, submissions for the awards will be judged by a jury chaired by architect Jacob van Rijs of MVRDV Studio. Projects entered can be located anywhere in the world but must make “significant use” of Spanish ceramics, and must have been completed between January 2017 and October 2019.

On the jury, van Rijs will be joined by Portuguese architect Inês Lobo; H Arquitectes founding partner David Lorente; Eugeni Bach of Anna & Eugeni Bach Arquitectes; architecture editor Tomoko Sakamoto; and Ramón Monfort from the Castellón College of Architects

The prize fund of €39,000 will be distributed among the three categories, with the two main categories – architecture and interior design – each having a cash prize of €17,000, while the final degree project aimed at architecture students has a prize of €5,000.
