The Kitchen Education Trust – TKET – has welcomed the news that the Institute for Apprenticeships – IFA – has published the new Level 3 apprenticeship standards for the fitted furniture design technician.

According to TKET, the apprenticeship “ensures a seamless route from the end of secondary education, through apprenticeship, to a foundation degree and beyond”.

The recognised qualification sits just under the Level 4 and 5 foundation degree in kitchen design at Buckinghamshire New University.

“This is an important step in the professional pathway into the kitchen industry and I am delighted that the Level 3 apprenticeship standards have been published,” said TKET chairman Craig Matson.
