Geberit managing director Mark Larden has managed to raise £5,190 for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association after taking part in the Great North Run, which comprised a 13.1-mile marathon from Newcastle’s city centre to the coast in South Shields.

Larden, pictured right alongside his wife Nikki, who also took part, completed the race in two hours and 25 minutes “despite suffering a shoulder injury in the build-up to the event”. His fundraising efforts mean Geberit can sponsor and name a guide dog puppy.

“At Geberit, we are dedicated to supporting a host of charities each year, and Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is just one of the worthy causes we are supporting throughout 2019,” Larden said. “Despite suffering an injury several weeks ago and cramp on the day, I am extremely proud of both myself and my wife, Nikki, for completing the Great North Run.

“We are delighted to have reached our target of £5,000, and are certain that Geberit’s donation will make a huge difference to the individuals our Guide Dog will go on to support. Any donations towards this wonderful charity, whether big or small, will be greatly appreciated,” he added.
