GROHE has been nominated for a German Sustainability Award, a national award for excellence in sustainability in industry, municipalities and research.
The company switched to CO2-neutral production in April this year, and since July 2019 has been using green electricity at all five LIXIL EMENA production sites.

In order to offset CO2 emissions that could not be reduced in the past, the company has also announced its support for two compensation projects, and made an investment in solar technology, combined heat and power plants and manufacturing processes that conserve materials, such as 3D metal-printing.
Last year, the company was ranked as one of Germany’s top three most sustainable companies. It will attend the Sustainability Award ceremony on December 4th, 2020 in Düsseldorf.
‘We are really very pleased with the nomination and the recognition it brings. We have been pursuing our sustainability goals for many years with high pressure and full conviction,’ says Thomas Fuhr, COO Fittings LIXIL International and CEO Grohe AG. ‘This year we have again been able to reach important milestones. It encourages us to constantly scrutinise and improve our internal processes in the interest of a better environment.’
