Scavolini designs ‘gym inspired’ bathroom
‘Gym Space’ allows consumers to ‘carve out time for the recommended 30 minutes of exercise a day’

Scavolini, the Italian kitchen, bathroom and furniture brand, has designed a gym inspired bathroom with Italian architect, Mattia Pareschi. ‘Gym Space,’ a bathroom that blends key features from the bathroom with elements of the gym, has, according to Scavolini CEO Fabiana Scavolini, been designed in order to help consumers ‘carve out time for the recommended 30 minutes of exercise a day.’
It features a customisable frame that acts as a base for typical home gym and bathroom components, so whilst in preparation for a workout, consumers can attach a choice of strength- training equipment from a weight bench and pull-up bar to TRX bands. Post workout, the frame can then be customised with a range of bathroom basics: vanity unit, lights, soap dish, shelves, storage elements and mirrors.

Fabiana Scavolini commented: “With plenty of research to suggest that our always-on culture affects our physical and mental wellbeing, Scavolini believes that wellness is set to significantly influence bathrooms in 2020. This presents us with an exciting opportunity to create solutions for a space that you can retreat to, devoting time to your wellbeing while surrounded by beautiful, thoughtful design.
“It is well documented that the key to boosting physical wellbeing is exercise. But it makes you feel good too, releasing chemicals like endorphins that help to improve mood and reduce stress. To help you carve out time for the recommended 30 minutes of exercise a day, we have created Gym Space. It was designed in collaboration with Italian architect Mattia Pareschi and blends key features from the bathroom with elements of the gym.”
