BSH, the manufacturer of Bosch, NEFF, Siemens and Gaggenau home appliances, has announced its collaboration with popular global wearables brand Fitbit.
The partnership, which adds to BSH’s existing collaborations with third party apps such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home and IFTTT (If This Then That), will see the manufacturer’s Home Connect app service become available via Fitbit smartwatches.
As a result of the collaboration, users will be able to monitor and control their wi-fi enabled home appliance via smartwatch, carrying out tasks such as starting their coffee machines, washing machines, dryers and dishwashers by using the watch.
Commenting on the app launch, James Kington, Group Connected Home & Digital Operations Manager, BSH Home Appliances UK & Ireland, said: “Having the Home Connect service now available via Fitbit is our first integration of wearables and marks a very exciting time for us.
“Fitbit is a trusted and celebrated brand whose products help users simplify their daily lives and this aligns perfectly with consumers of Home Connect products. Users are already able to operate their appliances with the Home Connect app or via voice control, and the Fitbit app gives a further option to assist them with their daily tasks whilst on-the-go.”
