New all-virtual interiors event Designscape offers access to a three-day programme of seminars and networking opportunities.
The event has been created by Informa, the events firm behind kbb Birmingham and leading design shows Decorex, designjunction and Sleep & Eat, in response to widespread cancellations of in-person exhibitions this year as a result of Covid-19.
Taking place 11th-13th August, Designscape will allow attendees from across the residential, hospitality and retail sectors to connect, do business remotely, network from anywhere in the world and learn on a scale like never before.
Each day will offer thought-leading programming and conversations, aimed at different strands of the interiors industry. Tuesday 11th August (Retail) will examine physical spaces becoming experience-driven, the intersection of retail and digital, the progression of the everyday kitchen, and the shop window as the ultimate storyteller.
Wednesday 12th August (Residential) will focus on new criteria and considerations governing the design of the home, the evolving and uncomfortable notion of luxury, the emergence of modern primitive styles, and the current state of the residential market.
Thursday 13th August (Hospitality) will host a line-up of talks around the alignment of sustainability and safety, AI’s impact on customer experiences, and future-proofing expansion and investment plans.
At a time when physical networking is not feasible, Designscape offers matchmaking and speed networking platforms which allow visitors to arrange individual video meetings with fellow attendees and suppliers from the product directory across the three days.
Dana Teague, VP Design Group at Informa says: ‘Designscape is a direct response to what the design industry has told us they need – an opportunity to meet with suppliers, source new products, network with existing and new business contacts as well as a place to be inspired and learn. All this on a global scale!
‘We are committed to giving the industry something new, challenging them to think differently about design with our programme bringing together industry professionals alongside specialists looking at how behavioural change will affect every step in the design process across every sector.’
