InSinkErator, the world’s largest manufacturer of food waste disposers, has launched a campaign that is calling on consumers to make positive lifestyle changes and improve their sustainability in 2020.

The campaign, which markets InSinkErator as a company committed to providing lifestyle enhancing solutions, is suggesting that an InSinkErator food waste disposer is the ideal solution for disposing of inedible food waste instantly, in a hygienic and sustainable manner.

It highlights that the disposer can reduce the impact food waste has on landfill sites and the wider environment. It comes in response to research which found that over the Christmas period, more than 250,000 turkeys, 7.5 million mince pies and 170 tonnes of Brussel sprouts are wasted.

The campaign also markets InSinkErator’s specialist kitchen tap as a sustainable option for the new year. It notes:

“On average, UK tea drinkers get through 165 million cups of tea a day, and with a kettle taking a minimum of two minutes 20 seconds to boil a litre of water, you could be wasting valuable festive games time with your family, while you are waiting for the kettle to boil, again.

“What’s more, according to the Energy Saving Trust, 40 per cent of households boil the kettle at least four times a day, with 75 per cent admitting to boiling more water than they need; accounting for a significant amount of water and energy wasted every year. Consumers can save water, energy and time this festive season with a specialist kitchen tap, such as the 4N1 Touch tap from InSinkErator.”

Anne Kaarlela, Marketing Communications Manager, Europe and Russia InSinkErator, said: “The festive season is a time of joy with family and friends, but it can also be a time of cluttered and messy worktops, a lack of space and time, resulting in general chaos in the kitchen.

“An InSinkErator specialist tap is the perfect companion to save precious moments, and valuable worktop space, in the kitchen during the festive season; while our food waste disposers eliminate the unpleasant food waste odours in the kitchen, and at the same time, reduce the shocking amount of food waste being sent to landfill.

“With consumers often looking to update their kitchens in time for Christmas, retailers should mention the added convenience InSinkErator products bring to the home and encourage their customers towards greater sustainability for the future.”
