Selco, a leading UK builders merchant stocking kitchen and bathroom trade accessories, has announced the opening of a new ‘historic’ distribution centre.
The centre, which will be 60,000 sq ft and based in Cowley, Oxford, will service all 66 branches across England and Wales when it officially opens in January 2020. It will house materials and products from more than 100 suppliers.

The investment comes on the back of Selco doubling the size of its branch network over the last five years, opening a new delivery hub to service London branches in Edmonton and the installation of LED lighting across the branch network.
Howard Luft, Selco Builders Warehouse chief executive, said: “We are more determined than ever to continue the growth of Selco and taken it from strength to strength. With that in mind, this is a historic development for us as a business and one which will bring huge benefits to our customers, including cost savings. We have always been proud of the stock availability we have had in branches but this development will enhance that still further. Geographically, Oxford is a very central location for our entire branch network and means we can get requested stock into our branches in a very short space of time. The large warehouse space we have at our disposal will also enable us to purchase products in greater quantity, savings which we will be passing on to our valued customers.”
