Simon Taylor’s team raise funds for male health awareness charity
The team raised over £5000 and drove 4,000 miles across Europe, for male cancer charity Orchid

Simon Taylor of Simon Taylor Furniture and his friend, Alan Hunt, have raised over £5000 for male health awareness charity, Orchid.
Simon and Alan, Managing Director of County Construction, drove over 4,000 miles across Europe in a topless Mini Cooper as part of the Back and Fourth Rally – an event that aimed to raise awareness of male cancers.
The rally saw 10 teams travel in convoy, and in all weathers, across France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Croatia, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, and The Netherlands. The team finished the rally in Amsterdam in a Mini Cooper that cost less than £1000 to purchase.
Simon Taylor said “This was one of the biggest personal challenges that I have ever undertaken; I have never known tiredness like it, but every day more money was being donated and that gave us all the motivation to keep going even when it was either 36°C heat, or when it was pouring with rain.
“I want to thank all the many generous suppliers, partners, competitor businesses and friends in the KBB industry that donated to the cause. I am truly overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness and generosity.
“I also want to congratulate all the other drivers who took part in the rally as we have all collectively raised over £30,000 for Orchid, which is an inspirational charity that raises awareness of male health issues.”
