The Kitchen Education Trust (TKET) is asking the kbb industry to get behind its application for a new degree in Home and Kitchen Design.

TKET has made an application to the Higher Education Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education following the success of its current Foundation Degree in Kitchen Design, and has deemed the proposed degree as an opportunity for the kbb industry to access education cost effectively.

In a recent statement, the TKET said that the biggest barrier to developing suitable higher education options in the industry has been cost, but the governments’ new higher education apprenticeships are an opportunity to help overcome this issue.

It suggested that in signing the support application, businesses will help to get the qualification verified and ‘acknowledge the value in creating educated, professional staff with a recognised qualification, standardised across the country.’
