Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited has taken home the Business Excellence award in the Motor Transport Awards 2019, which recently took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London to “celebrate excellent in the road freight transport industry”.
The Business Excellence award is designed to honour companies that “promote best working practices, offer exceptional employee development programmes and corporate social responsibility initiatives, including caring for the environment”, Whirlpool said.
The company said it is the only major domestic appliance manufacturer that operates a home-delivery service directly to consumers. Its logistics division, Hotpoint Home Solutions, is “one of the largest movers of white goods in Britain, operating under four European standards”.
“Business excellence can only be achieved with an extremely motivated and highly trained workforce,” said Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited senior project manager Karen Slack. “Our fully accredited in-house training academy supports our operational teams. This is an investment towards our people and our consumers, ensuring that the delivery process is best-in-class.
